Customer Service

Speaker: Gary J. Rubin, J.D.

Brief Description

To address customer service from the viewpoint of the project manager who has at least four audiences:  customers outside the company, and customers inside the company, i.e., supervisors, colleagues, and subordinates.  Soft skills will be touched on, including written and verbal communication, business etiquette, conflict resolution, and time management.

Mr. Rubin is a tenured faculty member of Cuesta College in the Business Education Division.  He has 20 years of combined teaching experience at the elementary, community college, and university levels, has served as a Mentor Teacher, and has written and lectured on classroom management and other educational, legal, and tax issues.  He has been an active member of the California Bar since 1985 and the Illinois Bar since 1986, and he holds an active Real Estate Broker’s License in Illinois. His project management skills have been acquired in part through his law practice, his ownership and management of a law firm for eight years, his experience as a public school teacher, and his duties as the Coordinator of Cuesta’s Business Education Division at the North County Campus.  His recent project management efforts include leading a team of eight individuals to successfully obtain funding, create curriculum, and achieve institutional approval for six new e-commerce courses to be offered by Cuesta starting in Fall 2009.
